Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization “Seeking to put God’s love into action. Their mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope.”
Their principals are:
- Demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ
- Focus on shelter
- Advocate for affordable housing
- Promote dignity and hope
- Support sustainable ad transformative development
While promoting its principles, they partner with people in a community and worldwide to build and improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners make their own homes with the help of volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat and its affiliates will not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a specific religion.
To help with these various programs, Habitat for Humanity takes monetary and non-monetary (new or gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, building materials, vehicles, and more) donations. You can drop it off at a location.
